Use The Red Hare On Any Level
On Hu Loa Gate, once you defeat Lu Bu a supply unit will appear (usually to the north.) Defeat the supply captain and you will get a secret item. Equip the item to use it on any level.

Play As Lu Bu
On Hu Loa Gate, get over 1000 KOs and defeat Lu Bu to unlock him. This can only be done while on the Allied forces.

Play As Yuan Shao
On the battle of guan du get 1000 ko's or more to unlock yuan shao. This can only be done on the allied force's side.

Start With Additional Characters
Start the game with a memory card with a saved game from Dynasty Warriors 2. Some characters unlocked in Dynasty Warriors 2 will be available in your new game.

How To Get Liu Bei
You must beat the game twice with the two of the Shu generals.

Body Guard Scroll
In the He Fei Castle Stage kill Xu Zhu (the chubby guy with the giant club) and a message should say a little after that they discovered a item. Press Start, go to history and read the message. A yellow arrow should be on the map and once you get to that location go to the boxes that are there and open them up and you should get a get item bag that has the bodyguard scroll in it.

Play as "The Phoenix" Pang Tong
At Cheng Du, protect Pang Tong and complete the battle with him alive. If you are on free mode play on Liu Bei's forces.

How To Get Fu Xi
In order to get Fu Xi you must beat musou mode with Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Jian.

Unlock Commanding Officers
To unlock the commanding officers, defeat the game with 2 officers from each army. 2 Wu officers unlocks Sun Quan, 2 Wei officers unlocks Cao Cao, and 2 officers from Shu unlocks Liu Bei

Unlock Meng Huo
To unlock the Nanman chief, Meng Huo, defeat the mission called the Nanman Campaign two times with anyone who has it as an available mission in Musuo mode. Beating the mission one time unlocks his wife Zhu Rong.

Hex Mark (Liu Bei's Horse)
During the battle of Cheng Du (the one with Pang Tong) defeat every officer in the stage with out slaying the leader. A "Special Item" message will appear and show the location of the saddle, it'll be in lower left hand corner (looking at the map in the start menu) near the last gate in a box.

Way Of The Musou
On the stage Guan Yu's Escape, you must defeat Xiahou Dun. He will pursue you near the end. Once you defeat him, he will drop the item. You have to play as Guan Yu's forces and have the level unlock to do this.

Jiang Wei
To unlock Jiang Wei, you must clear Musou mode with Zhuge Liang. He then will be playable in Free and Musou modes.

Imperial Saddle
To get this rare item, you must play the stage Yi Ling on the Shu forces. You have to prevent the fire event by defeating Zhu Ran in the valley east of Sun Shang Xiang after Lu Xun surveys the camp. After that you must defeat all Wu generals except Sun Quan. A supply team will appear from the troop entry point in Sun Quan's camp. It's better if you defeat Lu Xun last so you can get to the supply team before they can retreat.

Gold Harness
To get this item, play the stage "Battle at Tong Gate" on Wei forces. Wait for Hansui to defect and then defeat all Shu generals except Ma Chao. Wait for him to retreat back in the Tong Gate and a supply team will appear in the gate area (Pause the game and look at history for the exact area). One gate captain has to be alive. If you have been in the gate, just go out and then come back in and the team should appear.

Longer Musou
When you play (In every level), once your musou meter is full, press the O button and keep pressing it until your musou meter is empty.

Zhao Yun's Fourth Weapon
Play as Zhao Yun at Chang Ban on hard. Defeat the enemy officers and a message will appear stating "supply unit found". Kill the Supply Captain to get his weapon Fierce Dragon.

Play as Sun Jian under hard difficulty in Surprise attack On Liu Buio. Go straight and kill Lu Gong and it will say special item discovered. It will be in the upper right hand corner of the beach

Dian Weis 4th Weapon
Play as Dian Wei under hard difficulty in Battle at Wan Castle. defeat general Hu Che Er and a supply captain will apear in the south defeat him to get the weapon.

How To Get Zhou Yu's 4th Weapon
At the battle of Chi Bi be on Sun Quan's forces and wait for Zhuge Liang to blow the winds and then defeat Xiahou Dun, and Zhang He and a report should say secret item found(i dont know why they dont say secret weapon????) and it will be in the center of the ship or you should take a look at your map! (you have to defeat both of them not your bodyguards and if sum ally defeats him you dont get it)

Fire Arrow Special Item
At the battle of Chi Bi, prevent the Allied fire attack. A special item found message will appear.

On the level, battle at He Fei, defeat all the officers except the HQ but kill Gan Ning last. He will drop an item. It is the power scroll.

Unlock Lu Meng
Go to Battle at Fan Castle. Beat the level on Wu forces but wait for Lu Meng to appear. Then defeat Guan Yu.

Beware Of Those Generals!!!
When you're playing the battle of Yi Ling in the Shu forces, Lu meng, Lu Xun and Gang ning are more hard to defeat.

Better Items
When you are defeating someone, do a combo on them. I had two guards near me. One I just killed and the other one I did a combo on and got life. If you do a long combo (20 or higher) you get a better life or something else.

Get Taishi Ci
At the Attack on Wu Territory, follow the orders on the conditions screen. If you notice, it doesn't have Taishi Ci's name as a general to defeat. So to get him, simply ignore him and go fight the other generals. After a while (about 15 min left in the board or so) a scenerio will play showing Taishi Ci surrendering to Sun Ce, making him available to be played with in free and musou modes.

Wu Zhang Plains Secret Items
In order to get the special items at Wu Zhang Plains: On the Wei forces, when too many of your major allied generals are killed by Shu forces, a scenerio will play showing the general that you are playing with say, " Someone else has died" (not all of them say the same thing,though). After that, the SPECIAL ITEM will appear on the board somewhere. And when playing on Shu forces, the information is the same. But this time the SPECIAL ITEM is different. I believe one special item is ATTACK x 2 near death and the other is DEFENSE x 2 near death.

Fourth Weapons
Fourth weapons are usually found at battles where certain and specific generals are important. (ex. Lu Xun is the important general at Yi Ling; Gan Ning and Zhang Liao are the important generals at He Fei; Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei are the important generals at Chang Bang, etc.) Also, when making the attempt to find forth weapons, the game's difficulty setting must be on HARD.

Get Taishi Ci's 4th Weapon
Fight with Taishi Ci at the Attack on Wu Territory on the Allied's side on hard difficulty. Before killing Sun Ce (if he is the last general alive), the special item will appear on the board.

How To Get The Art Of War
In the battle of Hei Fei Castle,join the Wei forces and kill all generals except Sun Quan, then there's a special item discovered, it is in the boat that where Sun Quan is in.

Generals Turn Into Robbers
Play mosou mode with Zhang Liao, Jiang Wei and Taishi Ci, Something interesting things will happen in the fourth stage. Zhang Fei will be the leader of the robbers if your are using Zhang Liao, Xu Zhu will be the leader of the robbers if your are using Taishi Ci, Huang Gai will be the leader of the robbers if you are using Jiang wei.

Finding Life
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need life while playing, these are the two places were you can always find life. The first place is by any gate (guarded by a gate captain). There's always life (in vases)by gates. And the second place is the GUARD CAPTAIN. It's hard to recognize these officers in crowd of enemies while fighting. They are usually accompanied by 4 or 5 guards or they ALWAYS ride those very thin, brown horses and they always give life, usually 100+ or 200+.

Lu Bu's Fourth Weapon
To get Lu Bu's weapon, go to the battle at Hu Lao Gate on hard, Dong Zhuo side. Go defeat Liu Bei,Guan Yu,Zhang Fei, and the other officer the starts near Liu Bei. A supply unit will appear in the northeast. Go defeat the supply captain to get the weapon.

Zhang Jiao's Fourth Weapon
To get it, defeat either Sun Jian's force (four officers), Cao Cao's force (five officers), or Liu Bei's force (three officers). Then it will say there is a special item discovered at the top of the castle. Get it to get the weapon.

Never Say Die
If your ever in trouble with a tiny bit of life left adn you cant find any, and a general is just about to take his last shot at you, quickly,pause the game and quit/save, then when your back at the main menu screen, continue. when everything loads up, run your heart out to the nearest gate, if you do this correctly, the general will be on a horse and ride off somewhere else. Go get some life and go back at it.

Gan Ning 4th Weapon
This is how to get the coolest person in the game's 4th weapon: He Fei stage, Wu side. Wait for the Taishi Ci death event. A supply team will appear at the entry point at the northwest of the map and head toward the entry point on the southeast side of the map. Kill the captain to get the item.

Lu Meng's 4th Weapon
By far the sweetest, anyway, At the battle of Fan Castle (on Hard) wait until the water fills up to the top, and attck the guy on the bottom left and kill him, the secret item will appear at the bottom right.

Easy Levels
Just make sure to kill every last guy in the level including the officers and the gate guardians. You will get 8000 points on free mode/ battle of the yellow turbans if you kill everyone. Besides you get a new item or upgraded version.

Guan Yu's 4th Weapon
Play Guan Yu's escape, hard mode and on Guan Yu's side Once you pass the fourth gate, the supply team will appear north of the fourth fort and head south. Kill the captain to get the weapon.

Zhang Fei's 4th Weapon
Chang Ban Stage, Shu Side. Meet the enemies at the Chouhan Bridge (it's the one south of where Cao Cao initially appears) You will get the yell event (I shall make you fear death!) Then kill Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan. The supply team will appear by the entry point near Xu Zhu, and head toward the northeast entry point. Kill the captain to get the item.

Ma Chao's 4th Weapon
Tong Gate stage, allies side. Wait for Han Sui to meet with Cao Cao,and defect to him. After a while, the supply team will appear on the right side of the bridge, north side of the map and head toward the northeast entry point. Kill the captain to get the weapon.

Wei Yan's 4th Weapon
Jie Ting stage, Shu side. Wait for Ma Su to climb up to the summit and get ambushed. Save his worthless hide by killing the general attacking him. Defeat all the enemy generals except Sima Yi, then enter his camp. The special item will appear on top of the hill where Ma Su made camp. Grab it and finish the stage.

Zhuge Liang's 4th Weapon
Wu Zhang Plains stage, Shu side. Wait for the reinforcement troops to come for the enemy. Cao Xiu will be one of the generals for the reinforcement group. Kill him. The precious item will then appear near where Zhuge Liang started. I recommend using two players to get this item. Zhuge will be totally protected as the first player, then once you kill Cao Xiu, he can easily grab the item. Then switch to your powerful second player to kill Sima Yi and finish the stage. The reinforcements generally come between 10 and 15 minutes into the stage. In the meantime, beat as many enemy generals as you can.

Huang Zhong's 4th Weapon
Mount Ding Jun stage, Shu Side. Head down the center route and defeat Xiahou Shang. The special item report will then appear west of Cao Cao's original position. Grab it and finish the stage.

Liu Bei's 4th Weapon
Yi Ling stage, Shu side. Defeat Sun Shang Xiang. The precious item will appear in Sun Quan's camp on the northeast side. Grab it, then defeat Sun Quan to complete the stage.

Jiang Wei's 4th Weapon
Jie Ting stage, Shu side. Defeat Zhen Ji and Cao Zhen. The supply team will come in at the entry point northeast of Sima Yi and head toward the northwest entry point. Kill the captain to get the item.

Pang Tong's 4th Weapon
Assault on Cheng Du stage, Liu Bei's side. You will get a message and be surrounded by Zhang Ren's troops. Kill Zhang Ren. The special item will appear on the northwest side of the map. Get it and finish the stage.

Zhang He's 4th Weapon
Guan Du Stage, Cao Cao's side. With Wen Chou and Yan Liang still alive, you must find and burn the enemy's supply depot. On the map, you will see there are four small forts. Randomly, one of these will be the enemy's supply depot. I recommend using the Red Hare saddle if you have it. Go to each of the forts, and there will be one or two officers there. Kill them to open the gate. Once you pass through the gates, you will be told if it is or is not the supply depot. If it's not, get back on your horse and get to the next one. If it is, you will see a cutscene. Once you've found the supply depot, you will find an enemy officer inside. Kill him, and you will see a cutscene where the depot is burned. After this, the special item report will appear around the center of the map where the 3 rivers meet. Grab the item and finish the stage normally

Xu Zhu's 4th Weapon
Tong Gate stage, Cao Cao's side. Kill Ma Dai and Pang De. Then enter the fort and get to the southeast corner of the fort. The special item will appear there.

Zhen Ji's 4th Weapon
On the Jie Ting stage, defeat Jiang Wei. After that, you will see a precious item report near Zhuge Liang's camp. Grab the weapon then clear the stage.

Sima Yi's 4th Weapon
Wu Zhang Plains, Wei side. Kill Zhang Bao, then wait about 20 minutes (!) At around the initial point of Zhang Bao's area, a supply team will appear. Kill the captain to get... Nothing! (What the?) But fear not, a special item report will appear at the entry point southeast of Shu's base.

Cao Cao's 4th Weapon
Yellow Turban Stage, Han side. You must defeat Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang without any gates being lost on either side. Once you've done this, a supply team will appear on the northwest enemy entry point, and will make its way to the entry point on the top center of the screen. Kill the supply captain to get the weapon.

Xu Huang's 4th Weapon
Fan Castle Stage, Wei side. Kill Guan Ping before the flood event. The precious item will then appear around the northeast edge of the ground level. Grab it and finish the stage.

Xiahou Yuan's 4th Weapon
Mt. Ding Jun stage, Wei scenario. After Huang Zhong runs down the mountain, kill him. The special item will then appear in an alcove to the west of Huang Zhong's initial position. Grab it and finish the stage.

Zhang Liao's 4th Weapon
He Fei stage, Wei side. Kill Zhou Tai. The special item will appear to the north of the broken bridge. Grab it and finish the stage.

Chi Bi Stage, Wu Side. Defeat Zhang Liao. The special item will then appear near Zhuge Liang's place of prayer. Grab it then finish off the stage.

Sun Shang Xiang's 4th Weapon
You Ting Stage, Wu side. Kill Cao Xiu. The special item will appear next to Cao Xiu's initial position. Grab it and finish the stage.

Lu Xun's 4th Weapon
Yi Ling stage, Wu Side. Either Lu Meng or Gan Ning must stay alive while you do this. First you must break though the stone warrior formation which is the square area on the south area of the map. You won't see a map on the main screen, but you can pause to see where you are. Enter through the top, then make your way around clockwise till you reach the exit on the west side. Head towards Liu Bei. On the way there, Zhuge Liang's unit will appear. Defeat Zhuge Liang. The precious item will then appear in the northeast side of the maze. Grab it, then make your way back and defeat Liu Bei to finish the stage

Da Qiao's 4th Weapon
You Ting stage, Wu Side. Kill Zhang He. The special item will appear at the dead end to the west of the northwest entry point. Grab it and finish the stage.

He Fei Castle stage, Wu side. Kill Zhang He. The special item will appear to the east of the pond in the center of the castle. Grab it and finish the stage.

Diao Chan's 4th Weapon
Hu Lao Gate Stage, Dong Zhuo's side. Kill Yuan Shu. The special item will then appear on the left side of Fan Shui Gate. Grab it and finish the stage.

Dong Zhuo's 4th Weapon
Hu Lao gate stage, Dong Zhuo's side. Wait for all of your guys to get killed except for Diao Chan and Lu Bu. Diao Chan will then defect to the enemy. Pay her back for this act of treachery by killing her. The special item will appear by the entry point west of the map. Grab it and finish the stage.

Yuan Shao's 4th Weapon
Guan Du stage, Yuan Shao's side. Keep Wen Chou alive for 10 minutes. A supply team will appear north of the southeast fort and head toward the southeast entry point. Kill the captain to get the weapon.

Meng Huo's 4th Weapon
Nanman stage, Nanman side. Defeat all enemy generals on the East side - Ma Chao, Zhang Yi, and Ma Dai, or all enemy generals on the West side - Zhang Fei, Zhang Bao, and Guan Xing. The special item report will then appear west of the blocking mountain at the center of the map. Grab it and finish the stage.

Zhu Rong's 4th Weapon
Nanman stage, Nanman side. Keep Dong Tu Na and Huei Nan alive for 15 minutes at which point, they'll meet and retreat from the battlefield. The precious item will appear near the bridge at the center of the map. Grab it and finish the stage.

Nu Wa's 4th Weapon
Wan Castle Stage, Allies side. Defeat Dian Wei. The special item will appear just north of where he started. Grab it and finish the stage.

Fu Xi's 4th Weapon
Liu Biao assault stage, Liu Biao's side. Kill Huang Gai. Special item will appear at the dead end on the northwest section of the beach. Grab it and finish the stage.

Buckler Item
He Fei stage on the Wu side. Let Taishi Ci get killed in the arrow attack, then retreat with Sun Quan to the lower right corner of the stage. When Zhang Liao comes to attack Sun Quan, defeat Zhang Liao and he will drop the item.

Poison Lake
Go to the right hand side in Nanman stage and you will see a lake with purple colour (Don't go in the lake, your life will keep on losing if you stay so long, and the guys will kill you by one slash after you've been staying so long and just have one more life left)

Unlock Zhang Jiao
To unlock Zhang Jiao, play the yellow tuban rebellion and defeat the three main generals (Zhang Boa, Zhang Liang, and Zhang Jiao) You also have to defeat Zhang Jiao all three times and kill 500 yellow turbans and he's yours.

Quick Recovery
When you get knocked down or get knocked off a horse, press the block button (L1) right when you hit the ground for a quick flip up recovery. It is the same on a horse just hit L1 right when you come off the saddle to perform this. It helps you to get right back into the action, very quickly!

Easy Characters
Easy characters to start playing as are: Xiahou Dun, Guan Yu, and Zhou Yu or Taishi Ci. Guan Yu is the easiest to get the strongest, because of his 4th weapon.

Easier To Get 4th Weapons
4th Weapons are only in hard, but all you have to do is complete the task in hard. Once you complete the required task and the special item message shows up you can quit and save then turn it to easy get the weapon and finish of the commander.(before quiting first make sure the item shows up first, check History)

Get 4th Weapon Very Easy And Slick
To get your 4th weapon easily and very slick, go to free mode and choose the character that you want to get the weapon with, then with 2nd player, pick somebody very strong (max Lu Bu for example) then start the required level (on hard) and required side. Then do all of the tactics needed to make your weapon appear. The point of the second player as a strong character is simply because he or she can do all of the work. With this strategy, you may get all of the 4th weapons with even new characters that aren't very strong.

Bowing Platform
On Hu Lao gate level be a Shu officer and head for the Fan Shui gate when you arrive go on top of the gate and go right. If you are in the right spot you will see shingles then jump and quickly tap up. If you did it right you will be on a rooftop with a perfect view of the enemy. If you combine this with the fire arrow hint,you'll get alot of KOs. This may take a litte bit of practice.

Survival Guide Special Item
In the batrle of wu zhang plains under the hard difficulty setting as the shu force, find a place where an intermission sequence starts and you see shooting stars. Note: This may take a while, and may happend when zhang fei dies. A special item message should appeard for the survival guide. This item will have your character attack x2 for thirty second when near death.

The Fastest Way Get Lu Bu
Start out with a Wei Warrior, until you get to "The Battle at Chi Bi" Then prevent the fire attack (Kill Huang Gai)a special item will appear. Get the fire Arrows and beat the level. Equip it and the go to Hu Lao gate. Kill 1000 troops and beat Lu Bu with fire arrows. stay far away or he will kill you. Beat the level and you will have Lu Bu.

Nanman Elephants
On the Nanman Campaign, after the elephant cutscene, enemy officers and generals would be riding elephants. One way to take them down is when you are on a horse and next to the elephant, go near the front and knock him off with a left or right strike (Make sure the elephant have your horse shake you off while it charges or you'll lose alot of life). The safer way is to hit off with an arrow form a safe distance (Make sure the elephant is standing still).

Extreme Power
When you are playing a 2 player game and you are on the same side, you can increase your musou attack temporarily. First you have to be near the second person. Then you have to charge your musou bar up all the way. Then both players have to press the musou button at the same time and then the 2 characters will do an insane musou attack. (this will work well when your surrounded by enemies).

Easy Way To Upgrade Beginning Guy
Play Yellow Turban Rebellion and at the top of the castle, there is Dim sum (Life up+10). Also along the left side of the map near Zhang Liang, there is musou up (Musou up+10). Do this a lot of times to boost those 2 stats up.

Easy Way To Upgrade 2
Whenever your fighting a general or gate captain, Weaken in any way possible then, charge up your musou bar and unleashed it ALL on him even when he dies, KEEP HITTING him to receive more of an upgrade, Ex. Instead of +1Defense, it becomes+2, instead of +4Attack, its +8Attack etc.
